Selecting a home-care platform in an eight-week window
National home care provider
An accelerated sourcing and selection process for a home-care platform as the incumbent system approached sunset and sector reform increased market pressure.

Challenge
The home-care platform was approaching its sunset date at the same time as government reform, with a likely rush of migration demand that could exceed vendor capacity.
The client had only eight weeks to source and select a suitable replacement platform.
The choice needed to meet service, finance, scheduling and IT needs while fitting the wider technology roadmap.
Approach
Capture the right requirements. Worked with service managers, central support, finance and scheduling officers on functional and non-functional requirements and current pain points.
Bring sector context. Provided a minimum aged-care non-functional requirement set for IT review and used care-management market knowledge to accelerate research.
Run a fair selection. Prepared a focused shortlist, RFP, scorecard and use cases that reflected both market realities and client needs.
Plan for the trade-offs. Helped the client prioritise requirements, make informed concessions and test fit with the technology ecosystem.
Outcomes
The selection process gave the client a detailed view beyond vendor marketing and a target-state solution definition that considered other initiatives and integrations.
Outputs included an implementation plan, costings and a benefits business case for board consideration.
- Best-of-breed platform selected
- Fair and documented RFP process
- Implementation plan, costings and board briefing pack
